Mughal Dagger Hilt

Full Description:

Said to have been Shah Jahans favourite colour, a dark green Jade hilt from a Mughal Khanjar dagger, carved in pistol-grip form with floral motifs across the rounded pommel and quillons.

A small group of daggers with similar Jade hilts are the Al-Sabah Collection, Kuwait National Museum.  Illustrated in Treasury of the World, Keene and Kaoukji (2001, P.122-133, fig 9.31-9.33).
